Van Gorder Law Offices opened in Bellingham, Washington in January, 1995. After nine years of working with major law firms in downtown Seattle, Chase was able to finally implement a long-delayed dream of opening his own law practice in Whatcom County, the most northwest county in the state of Washington. A 1984 honors graduate of Vermont Law School, Mr. Van Gorder served as a law clerk to former Justices Wynn Underwood and Thomas Hayes of the Vermont Supreme Court. Chase is a 1986 admittee to the Washington State Bar and a 1992 admittee to the Alaska State Bar. While in Seattle, Chase worked in the litiga­tion departments of several major downtown law firms.
